Patterson Company started in 1858 on the banks of the Monongahela. It was in the 1950's when we began to design and manufacture the towboat and barge winches for which we are now known. These winches are used to hold barges in a tow to the twoboat and the barges to each other. Having started with just several sizes of winches, we now offer from 20-ton thru 75-ton capacity in manually, electrically, and hydraulically operated formats. Design changes over the years have concentrated on reducing maintenance, increasing the safety factor and most importantly, improving the winch through listening to the needs of the end user.

Today, Patterson Co. continues to provide the safest and most reliable products on the waterways.
